Orientation Week 2006/2007 (My friends)

Three years of Orientation, with different roles and perspectives. And those that seem to always stand out and make himself known among OCs and Freshies alike, Nicky Ong Shao Seong. He won the most popular student award, he just knows how to deal with people.

To me, I had a hard time getting close to him. Or rather I didn't become friends with him until after last year's Orientation which is one year plus after I know his existence. For me, 他是一个真心若隐若现的人. I like him when his true feelings show, but most of the time he is always trying to potray the good side of him, and often very distant. Well, it's just my opinion.

But there is something of him that I want to learn. The ability to make friends with everybody on campus, staff and students. It is very impressive how a person can capture the hearts of few hundreds on stage. He's like a celebrity holding his own concert. The stage and attenion belongs to him.

Maybe a person like that might feel lonely. Maybe he seeks someone who can give him a lot of support, both in his role and his heart. I hope he finds his happiness soon. A good person like him, shouldn't be left alone in that high tower of spotlights. Bless him always.

Speaking of Nicky, you might want to talk about Jega as well. I knew Jega from RCS. He's kind of sweet, looks very pure and simple(I said "looks like" only :P), with a very kind heart. Sometimes I just feel the urge to bully him around. Feels very safe to stick around as he really takes care of those around him. Almost 2 years knowing him now. Both of us are going to hold President positions soon. I wish the both of us all the best.

And then Shuk. Frankly, I'm not as close to him as Cc and Jo. He's a big guy with a soft heart. I really hope he can stop smoking though. Still I like hanging out with the bunch of them.

Nice knowing them. Close or not, they are still my friends. They cared for me and gave me support when I needed it. And I really appreciate them in my life. They made a difference.
